Need I remind you that Syracuse was a 37 point underdog?
This approaches the Appalachian State/Michigan upset in the first week as far as how much of a blowout this was supposed to be. And Syracuse dominated this game. Not necessarily in yards, but they lead by double digits nearly the entire game. Louisville couldn’t do anything to stop them.
428 yards passing? 480 total yards? These numbers absolutely blow away everything Syracuse has done up to this point in the season. Up to this point, Syracuse had gained 596 total yards in 3 games, and 501 passing yards in 3 games. They even got 50% of the rushing yards with 52 yards, against the 95 they had gained combined in 3 games.
Yes, Syracuse allowed another 600 yards of offense, but that was to be expected against Louisville. The point is, however, that they won.
By the way, there were 1,107 yards of offense in the game.
